Overview

The pitch is good enough that it almost sells itself. Your office job feels like it is trying to kill you, so the game makes that literal: you grind through the workday for a paycheck, then sleep, and your workplace anxieties show up in the dream as things you have to fight.

The night half is a proper action roguelite, not a minigame. Runs, upgrades, boss encounters, the works. Progression is handled by courses you take on the home computer during the day, which is a neat way of tying the two halves together: self-improvement funded by the job that is causing the problem in the first place.

It is one of the better-rated games on this list for a reason. The animation work is heavy on anthro characters, there is no generative AI in it, it runs in the browser as well as on Windows, Linux and Android, and it ships in eight languages including Portuguese. Scenes unlock through both winning and losing, so the failure states have content attached rather than being dead ends.

Story
