Nito: The Fallen Rabbit of the Corrupted Isolation Zone

Overview

Nito is a side-scrolling action game built around one weapon and the discipline of using it well. You fire a gatling gun, you clear a path, and you mix in melee when the gun is not the answer. Ammo, cooling and the number of heals you can carry are all upgradeable through items you find, so exploring the map pays for itself.

The presentation is where it separates itself. The standing portrait is Live2D and it updates in real time to whatever is happening: damage, state of the outfit, arousal. It is a technical flourish the doujin scene does not usually manage, and it makes the state of a run legible at a glance without a single UI element.

The objective is to explore the corrupted isolation zone and get back to the moon in one piece. Losing means getting captured and dragged to an enemy base, which is where the other half of the content lives: 30 scenes with variants, all of them unlocked in the gallery from the start rather than gated behind progress. The circle is Sodium Polyacrylate with art by Yanagi, it runs in Japanese and English, and there is a free trial version on DLsite. Be aware that the full release is a 7.18 GB download and carries the usual dark doujin content tags.

Story

The moon's rabbit came down into the corrupted isolation zone. Getting back up is a longer trip than coming down was, and everything on the ground has noticed her.
