Forbidden Dungeon

Overview

Forbidden Dungeon wears its influences openly: the party management and stress mechanics of Darkest Dungeon, the climb-from-nothing shape of Solo Leveling, and a corruption layer that the genre usually keeps at arm's length. You control a lone hero in a realm run by a Demon Lord who was, in the game's framing, born out of humanity's worst impulses.

Runs are turn-based and randomized. Dungeons reshuffle, traps move, and loot comes in the familiar Common through Legendary tiers, so each descent is a slightly different math problem. The interesting part is what happens outside combat: morale, obedience and stress on your party members are things you actively manage, and how you manage them is a choice the game makes you own.

It is built in Ren'Py, runs in the browser as well as on desktop and Android, and it is unambiguous about the tone. Losing a fight does not just cost HP. The corruption system, the mind-breaking stress and the sex-on-loss design are the core of it, not a side gallery.

Story

The Demon Lord did not conquer the realm so much as grow out of it. You arrive with nothing, and the dungeon offers the only ladder up: get stronger, or become part of what is already down there.
