Essence Blade

Overview

Essence Blade is an indie action game that boils down to one question: can you survive the next wave? The core loop is wave-based combat with a heavy emphasis on movement. You are dashing, kiting and repositioning, because enemies hit hard and standing still is never safe.

You start simple, usually with a knife, and unlock weapons with different ranges, timings and attack styles as you go. The roguelite side kicks in between waves, when you pick cards that give you buffs or new effects: health, damage, weapon skills, and sometimes upgrades that change how you play entirely. Every run turns into a different build.

Difficulty tiers work like proper modes. Easy is a short run, Medium is a longer test, Hard is the one that asks you to prove it, and each ends with a boss. One feature we genuinely respect: the filter system lets you toggle content types on or off, or disable the spicy content entirely, and you still have a full game to play. That tells you the dev believes in the combat loop.

Story

Something keeps sending waves at you, and the only answer anyone has come up with is a blade and whatever upgrades you can grab between rounds. Between runs you get the Inn, a short breath, and then back out again.
